Directions to Unity Foundation

Directions from Bangor, Maine

Follow I-95 south to Exit 174 (formerly 43) [Carmel/Winterport-Route 69)]. At the top of the exit, turn left, cross back over I-95 and follow Rte 69 to the blinking light.

At the blinking light turn right onto Route 9/202. Stay on Route 9. Approximately 10 miles from the first blinking light is a second blinking light [in Dixmont] (at the intersection of Routes 9 and 7). Stay on Route 9.

Approximately 8-9 miles from the second blinking light is the town of Unity. On the right is a large athletic complex (Field of Dreams), cross over the railroad track. Approximately three-tenths of a mile on the right (from the railroad crossing) is the two-story brick building that houses the Unity Foundation.

Directions from Augusta/Portland

Follow I-95 north to Exit 132 (formerly 35) [Fairfield]. Turn right at top of exit ramp onto Route 139. Follow road to intersection of Routes 139 and 201. Turn right onto 139/201. [This is Fairfield] Turn left at traffic light (Route 139). Cross bridges and go up hill; go straight through traffic light at the top of the hill. Follow Route 139 for approximately 4 miles. [This is Benton] Turn left onto Route 100, then immediately turn right on Route 139. Cross bridge and turn left at the top of the hill. Sign reads “Unity Road.” Stay on Route 139 for approximately 15 miles. [Landmarks in the town of Unity are; Irving Gas station on the left and Unity Raceway on the right; Homestead Restaurant on the left and the Elementary School on the right.] At the blinking light, turn left (Route 9/202) and follow Main Street to the Unity Foundation on the left.

Clifford Common, a complex of brick buildings that house the U.S. Post Office and Bangor Savings Bank, is directly across the street from the Unity Foundation.
